Auguraculum Acadia

The Auguraculum Acadia is a Modern Reconstructionist, Greco-Roman Pagan organization that is based around Greco-Roman and Kemetic Paganism and Acadian Culture, which blends ancient and traditional beliefs to form a modern understanding of both cultures. The organization oversees and represents various temples and altars that have been dedicated to gods, goddesses, and saints of Greco-Roman, Kemet, and Christian understanding.

The Auguraculum Acadia promotes an understanding and reverence of individual interpretations of Greco-Roman, Kemetic, and Christian traditions. However, the Auguraculum Acadia particularly focuses on various goddesses, as well as the promotion of the Goddess Movement, with various goddesses such as Aten (Sun), Diana (Hunting), Eirene (Peace), Gaia (Earth), Renenet (Agriculture), Salachia (Sea), and Saint Hildegard (Theologians).

Structure

The Auguraculum Acadia is structured around the individual interpretations of stories, mythos, and other traditions of the Acadians, Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. However, the organization does promote and encourage the usage of forming communities led by High Augurs, which promote specific gods, goddesses, and traditions. The High Augurs are tasked with overseeing regional temples, as well as altars if Augurs are not able to oversee more localized altars. Regardless of the interpretation of High Augurs and Augurs, the Auguraculum Acadia promotes peace for all, respect for nature, preservation, and understanding of all gods, goddesses, and saints, and a respect of individuality.

Concilia Auguria Publica

The Concilia Auguria Publica, commonly known as Concilia Publica, are the divisions that the Augurculum Acadia divides the world, with many borders being defined by major and minor rivers. Each Councilia Publica is entrusted to a High Augur, who is the central regional figurehead of the Auguraculum Acadia within a specific geographic region. High Augurs serve as leaders of their Concilia Publica, however, they can also be granted additional powers by the Archeveque Augur of Metropolitan Apollonia, who is first among equals.

Below each High Augur, is an Augur who oversees and reports to their specific community and the High Augur as well. As of October 2023, in the Augurculum Acadia, there are two Councilia Publica that are populated, Metropolitan Apolloina and Aspendos, consisting of one Archeveque Augur, one High Augur, two temples, three altars, and one Christian Church which is in full communion with the organization.

Temples

The Augurculum Acadia practices public and private ceremonies in line with ancient traditions and values, including the usage of temples, shrines, and altars. Offerings and other ritual objects are purely ceremonial and are often left at temples, shrines, and altars. Many temples are adorned with a cult image of the deity, to whom the temple is dedicated, often a more simple altar is used in place of a temple. Temples and altars are commonly established by an individual, however, groups or the Auguraculum Acadia as a whole may establish a place of worship. High Augurs, Augurs, and their communities are given full independence to design and decorate their places of worship, however, some requirements may be put into place at a High Augur’s digression.

Domestic and Private Cult

The concept of a domestic and private cult is placed within the authority and obligations of the family couple structure, which includes dynastic authority, priestly duties to the Lares, family deities, private altars, statues, and other religious shrines. Within each domestic or private cult, each group or community dedicates an individual Lare for protection and guidance for all members of the group or community. Within each group or community, it is often hoped that belief in an individual Genius, or individualistic essential spirit, often a god or goddess, provides guidance and protection to the person.

Mysterium Gilda

The Augurculum Acadia accepts and encourages those who are interested in reviving the ancient tradition of mystery religions or cults. Within the organization, they are referred to as Mysterium Gilda and require all Mysterium Gildas to register with their regional High Augur, including name, yearly membership, and patron deity or triad. Each Gilda is allowed to form its traditions and values within their own initiation and membership processes, with each Gilda required to follow local law and any requirements set forth by a local High Augur, and can be shut down and removed from the local registry should the Gilda be found to be violating human decency, rights or other requirements set forth and communicated by their local High Augur. The Augurculum Acadia recognizes one Gilda as organization-wide, with prospects of others if requested, the one Gilda is the Idaic Gilda of Salachia, which focuses on a unique triad of Greco-Roman goddesses, Salachia, Eirene, and Diana.
