The Elizaburian Cultural Commission has expressed support for Elizaburian Culture and nations which identify with this Canadian Acadian subculture, and have pushed through various programs to support the development of all member states.
The Elizaburian Cultural Commission, often shortened to ECC, was established following months of talks between various nations including the Atlian Empire and North Sea Empire, officially being established in July 2023,with the signing of the Treaty of the Northern Sea.
The Elizaburian Culture is defined as being broadly, Acadian, Greco-Roman and Ancient Egyptian inspired, with a Greco-Roman faith coming into fruition, as well as various shrines and holidays dedicated to Ancient Egyptian gods and Acadian traditions occuring.
Quickly following the establishment of the ECC, the first statement was published, within it recognized the first members including various regional entities including the Grand Duchy of Appledore-Lutecia and High Kingdom of Cypsopina, found within American New England and the Canadian Maritimes.
Within the first ECC statement, the commission established a unified national parks system inspired by the American and Canadian National Park programs. It also established a cultural holiday calendar, including holidays from Acadian, American, Canadian, Soviet and United Nations backgrounds.
The statement further defined a cultural understanding for all member states, as well as promoting various parts of the Bolivian Law of the Rights of Mother Earth for adoption by June 2024, including Right to Restoration, “It is the right to the effective and opportune restoration of life systems affected by direct or indirect human activities.”
Other pieces included within the statement were, the adoption of annual plans, a Elizaburian Cultural Festival, recognition of cultural based scouting and education programs, as well as adoption of various treaties and conventions including the Wrythe Convention. Also adopted was a cultural library, Sieur de Monts Library, the Triosha heraldic tradition and a sister city program.
Following the passing and adoption of the first statement, member states went into a miniature hibernation as various factors began to come into play for all member states, including talks of adoption with Imperial Authorities, as well as work picking up for many citizens within the member states.
In October 2023, talks between member states began to pick up on what would be beneficial for member states and in November 2023, the second statement of the ECC was published which covered various topics including, diplomacy, economics, education and more.
One of the major agreements to come out of the second statement included the North Elizaburian Parliamentary Association, commonly known as the NEPA, which established a body for keeping member states accountable, such as having a yearly review of all member states.Furthermore, the NEPA is expected to keep member states active, as well as promoting shared ideas for adoption.
Diplomacy was another major area of development, including the formalization of the sister city program, known as the Eastern Baccalareum Program. The Eastern Baccalareum Program established its expectations as well as sister city pairings. Also within diplomacy the statement established the Elizaburian Consulate, which would promote all member states within a geographical region.
The statement established various economic programs, expected to jumpstart the Elizaburian Economical Region. These programs included the Fundyport Currency Exchange, Transaintecroix Economic Area for free trade. Also established was the North Gulf Board of Trade. All of these economic programs are hoped to further solidify the Elizaburian Economical Region within the Chausalantique Sector, however it is now known at this time if such efforts will be successful.
Within economics, the statement defined the Elizaburian-Croix Times as the joint company owned by the ECC, which shall publish all documents and statements on behalf of the ECC and its organizations. The Elizaburian-Croix Times also shall publish a yearly paper known as the The Elizaian, covering all things ECC and it’s member states.
Surprising areas within the second statement was that of education and defense, both of which have long been assumed to be region specific, however the statement made clear the expectations of its member states. The Tjekopinan Education Commission was established and oversees a unified education system which covers elementary through tertiary education.
Under education, the statement defined a Transaintecroix Sporting Federation, to promote the teams of the Gulf Sporting League and the member state’s teams and stadiums. It further defined the adoption of an Anglo-Franco Pidgin known as Tjekopinan for all member states.
Within the defense section a Bay of Fundy Treaty Organization, shortened to BFTO was established and is expected to coordinate all military affairs between the various armed forces within the member states. The BFTO follows a similar structure to NATO, however it is expected to be put under more scrutiny as some member states are not fully sovereign, this caveat has yet to be seen as a positive or negative.
With the second statement also came the acceptance of the Oriental Principality of Lower Isturus and the Auguric Republic of Upper Petrioam, both of which are led by members of the House of Dearmad-Otilliciares. Another shock within the statement was the establishment of observers, with the Free Imperial City of Transaintecroix, a condominium of Lower Isturus and Upper Petrioam accepted into the ECC.
With the acceptance of observers, the ECC has formally invited the North Sea Empire and Atlian Empire as observers, which has widely been seen as expected given regions of both states are members of the ECC.
On the 25th of October 2023, in light of the 2023 Shootings in Maine, which is within a short drive to all ECC member states in the United States and in Canada, all regions were placed into a State of Emergency until the suspect was found. Two days later, the suspect was found and a week of mourning for all those that were killed and affected was observed by all ECC members.
The ECC has established itself within a few months as a focal point for all of its members and has become a vital member to the Chausalantique Sector, promoting development and progression not seen since the Treaty of the Northern Seas in the Summer of 2023.
