Nation Goes Dark: Interview with Prince Ambrose Following State of Emergency

The Imperial Government made a quick announcement on the 14th of September, what happened, and what came next? The government has agreed to an exclusive interview following the sudden state of emergency and the quiet end to the state of emergency eighteen hours later.

L'Vaillant Païen: Thank you for taking some time to answer some questions from us, can you please explain the state of emergency announcement this past Saturday?

Prince Ambrose: You're welcome and certainly, the nation saw a general regional power outage which impacted roughly 95% of the country and many territories of our allies which citizens across our nation hold.

L'Vaillant Païen: What happened and what was the cause of the power outage?

Prince Ambrose: At first I was unsure and following discussions with Princess Adelie, we agreed to announce a state of emergency following the uncertainty in the air. It was later revealed that an accident had impacted the power grid and had led to further connected power grids being impacted.

L'Vaillant Païen: Was it just American or Canadian citizens impacted by the outage?

Prince Ambrose: We have only heard concerns from our American citizens, however, no injuries were reported or commented on. We did listen to reports from citizens that driving conditions had been impacted as general public concerns rose. Some members of the public tell citizens of different reasons for the outage.

L'Vaillant Païen: What has the government done to ensure future events do not impact communication or power to citizens?

Prince Ambrose: We continue to suggest citizens keep battery packs charged and have a 72-hour power outage pack prepared for emergencies. As for communication, each citizen has a direct line to myself or the government office through at least two means of communication.

L'Vaillant Païen: Is the government planning to implement any further policies for emergencies like this or the storms that impacted the Auguric Republic last winter?

Prince Ambrose: At this time, we feel that the current procedures are sufficient for our small population, however with the recent acceptance of a citizen overseas, we have begun talks on how to ensure their communication is ensured.

L'Vaillant Païen: Thank you for this interview, is there anything else you wish to add?

Prince Ambrose: No, thank you for interviewing me.
