The Oriental Principality of Lower Isturus has been quietly developing its foreign affairs, establishing relations with four nations from around North America. Tozar Ambrose I and Tozarena Adelie I have been working together to gather allies as they enter the international scene.
The House of Dearmad Otillicaires, which rules the principality, has been working with the Atlian Empire’s Prince Regent Luis I and the North Sea Empire’s Emperor Thomas I, on developing strong ties within the Wind Rose Community, through various means including mutual recognition treaties and virtual athletic events.
Ties between the principality and the two empires, the North Sea Empire and Atlian Empire were formalized after months of talks on the 17th and 24th of October respectively. Since formalizing relations, Prince Regent Luis has been advising the rules of the principality on micronational affairs and development.
The principality has been developing its diplomatic outreach beyond the Wind Rose including establishing a Facebook, Instagram, and a X, formerly Twitter, pages during the month of October and November. This outreach has seen the principality learn from other nations and communities.
A few nations and communities that have sparked interest with Adelie I have been the Grand Duchies of Flandrensis, Gosland and Westarctica, all of which are Antarctica based micronations. Tozarena Adelie I has expressed interest in all scientific and conservation minded nations who share the ideals of protecting penguins and other creatures living in Antarctica.
Tozar Ambrose I has taken a more keen focus in socialist and militaristic micronations, with the Democratic Lazonesia as a nation of interest and inspiration. Ambrose has also taken a special interest in the historiography of micronations and submitted the principality to the Micronational Directory, which has been a major resource for micronational histographic studies.
The principality held discussions with the Grand Duchy of Gosland and Democratic Lazonesia in November 2023, with treaties being signed after discussions between the respective governments. The treaties were formalized on the 27th and 25th of November respectively with them coming into force on Friday, the 1st of December.
Following the signatures with Gosland and Lazonesia, the Tozar and Tozarena have agreed to open relations with any micronation or organization that both Ambrose and Adelie agree to recognize or participate with. During these discussions, the proposal for an empire to be established by the House of Dearmad Otillicaires was presented, which both agreed to.
The Tozarian Empire project as it has become to be known as, has been officially named the United Kingdom of Elizabury, Forsteri, and the Transaintecroix, shall use the principality as a basis and allow the principality to join the empire as a diplomatically independent nation, with development and culture being shared between the two entities.
While the Tozarian Empire project is in its infancy, it has brought the Tozar and Tozarena together to formulate the development of a micronation, which they both can be happy with and find common ground along political and social interests. These early achievements have brought excitement to outside observers, with some providing support and guidance in the development of the project.
While the principality has begun to develop itself as an independent nation, it is also providing the groundwork for the Tozarian project, which it hopes will be the first of many nations that will find inspiration from it. Ambrose and Adelie have expressed hope in the longevity of their micronational projects and looking forward to learning and exploring more micronations.
